What is OPM Disability Retirement?

Also known as “FERS Federal Disability Retirement”. Federal employees who can no longer work effectively in their job due to a disability may be able to take advantage of the OPM Disability Retirement.

The benefit allows for early retirement, continued health and life insurance with monthly annuity payments, additional creditable years service that extends time before reaching eligibility for traditional forms of retirement and also enables them to keep working in the private sector.
