Frequently Asked Question

If I am accepted for OWCP will I get to keep my current health benefits?

# Back to all FAQs

If your OWCP claim is accepted and you are still employed, then you will continue to receive your current health benefits and your premium will start coming out of your wage loss payments. However, you are given the option to cancel those benefits if you no longer wish to receive them.

If you have been separated, then you are not eligible to continue to receive any health or life benefits unless you have been approved for other benefits like Federal Disability Retirement.
