Next Monday, November 16th, Harris Federal Law Firm will host its fourth training webinar, entitled “Myth Busting – OPM Federal Disability Retirement“. This free training session is open to the public, and will correct common misconceptions associated with OPM disability retirement.
Federal Disability Retirement is an occupational disability program for federal employees with over 18 months of service. The benefit is administered by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and is a part of the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS). OPM disability can be a life-changing asset for many injured or disabled federal workers; however, most know little about the benefit other than common myths.
In this upcoming webinar, Harris Federal Law Firm’s Senior Attorney, Brad Harris, and Director of Operations, Bo Harris, will debunk several of these common OPM disability retirement myths, and help you understand the facts. While face-to-face training can often be cost-prohibitive, this webinar is offered as a complementary alternative, so you can learn more about federal disability retirement without leaving the comfort of your own home. The webinar will also be interactive, and allow you to ask questions along the way.
Some examples of the myths we will discuss include:
- “You cannot qualify if you have an OWCP Federal Workers Compensation claim.”
- “The medical condition must be caused by work.”
- “You must have stopped working to apply or qualify for federal disability retirement.”
- “You have to also qualify for Social Security Disability.”
- “You have to be totally disabled to qualify.”
These myths are all FALSE!
To learn why, reserve your spot now for our upcoming webinar. We will debunk these and other common myths associated with OPM disability retirement.
We look forward to seeing you there!
