At Harris Federal, we are driven by a strong desire to use our skills and resources to assist others. Every day, we help federal workers who have been injured or fallen ill to obtain the benefits they need and deserve. We also go beyond our practice and do our best to help those in our communities.
Some of the events and organizations we have worked with in the past include:
Two of our team members, Bo Harris and Grant Ostrander, joined members of the Winchester Covenant Church on a mission trip to the impoverished island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. The focus of the trip was to build housing. However, Grant his brother, Erick, also gave shoes and soccer cleats to local children, which had been collected from people throughout Lexington.
Our Harris Federal family frequently cooks meals for RMH Bluegrass and enjoys spending time with families staying at the non-profit organization’s Lexington home. RMH Bluegrass provides housing for families so they can be with their children during a time of medical need. (Please learn more by going to our blog article.)
We love participating in this fun and healthy annual event, which helps to support CASA of Lexington. The organization trains and supervises volunteers who advocate for children’s bests interests in the court system.
For many years, we have worked with this organization, which collects and distributes donated food to more than 275 partner agencies throughout central and eastern Kentucky in an effort to fight hunger and the problems that hunger can cause – especially for children.
Harris Federal has proudly served as a sponsor of the annual Walk for Down Syndrome in Lexington, or “Buddy Walk,” which serves as the key annual fundraiser for this important organization. (See this blog article for more details.) DSACK is dedicated to raising awareness about Down Syndrome and providing education to local families, caregivers and medical and educational professionals.
Harris Federal has enjoyed sponsoring athletes for participation in this program, which provides year-round training and competition for more than one million children and adults with intellectual disabilities. (See this blog article to learn more.)
If your charity, church or civic organization would like to partner with Harris Federal on a community service effort, please feel free to contact us. We would love to learn more about what you do and discuss how we may assist you.
