The OPM has announced that as of June 2, 2025, all federal applications for retirement will be paperless. This plan has been in the works for years, aiming to help streamline the process of applying for retirement.
This plan is intended to make the application process and wait time more efficient for federal workers, but for many people, this may actually be a barrier.
Having to learn new processes online is often a chore, and when you’re balancing a career and your medical condition, it’s likely the last thing you want to do. In fact, some folks have conditions that stop them from working on a computer for extended periods. Things like chronic migraines and neck and back conditions can make sitting at a desk and staring at a screen all day impossible. If you’re a federal worker struggling to adjust to new technology because of something like this, read our full blog for helpful resources.
Here’s the good news
Our team is aware of this change and we’re communicating with the OPM on how to set up new processes and procedures.
